About
Kay... well, truth is, I'm just a gal ~ I dream big and live large
but I'm just like everyone else ~ trying to get life right! I've always
been in awe of beauty (an no, my definition will not always be the
same as yours, how wonderful!) I was exposed to original art at an
early age as my dad painted oils on canvass ~ the bug had bitten!
Artworks, photography - I find them to be such amazing forms of expression
when one doesn't really want or need the written or oral word to cloud
the issue. Having said that, however, I do very much find the written
word quite fulfilling. My first poem was published in grade 2 and
I've been scribbling ever since. I regret that I've not had more time
for writing since my first novel, Spanish
Coffee, was published, however, it's still on the back-burner,
simmering away, and in the meantime, I've had the pleasure of writing
colums for Car Kulture Deluxe Magazine and Viscous Bettys Magazine.
PinupGlamour.com was conceived out of
a desire to create, I've always wanted to 'make or do things' that
would bring a smile to peoples faces :) however, what most don't know
is that it began at a time when my Mom was diagnosed with cancer,
and it was in fact, her idea, that I begin this website. I wrestled
with the idea at first ~ I had no dellusions of grandeur, and I had
already left the contemporary modelling industry because I just didn't
like it. Realizing that it was a job I could do while caring for my
Mom 24-7 was certainly attractive, so I gave it a whirl. I said good-bye
to my Marketing Manager title, taught myself HTML, pulled out the
old photography equipment, and the rest, as they say, is history!
Wow! What a ride it's been!
Over the years, I've had the great honor
and privilege of working with some pretty fabulous people ~ designers,
photographers, manufacturers, soldiers, hungry children, models, and
friends ~ you all know who you are ~ and each and every one of you
have brought such joy into my life ~ Thank you! Not least among these
are the wonderful Kay's Klub Members who have supported me and my
work ~ I have been truly blessed.
I've recently opened my photo studio
to the public so life does tend to get a little hectic from time to
time ~ being the photographer, being the model, being the writer,
and of course, keeping the home-fires burning for my truly amazing
family ~ but there's no place I'd rather be. There's a saying ~ "I
may not be perfect, but I'm perfect just the way I am" ~ this
sediment echos my gratitude for life.
I do my best to help make this world
a better place, I help those in need, I accept everyone as brother
and sister, I do not give audience to hatred and I love much and often!
